Updates & NEWS
PARKING AND DRIVING MAPS are online for Friday's sessions. Parking is tight; use the maps to make it easier for your travel. Carpool on Friday whenever possible. [PDF] [JPG]
FRIDAY NIGHT BARBECUE . 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. you're invited to a neighborhood barbecue by David Hoggard, David Wharton and Matt Gross. The shuttle will pick you up at the Biltmore Hotel at 6:20 pm and return at 9:00 pm. (You can walk; it's about 20 minutes.)
CONFERENCE SHUTTLE . We have a shuttle that will help transport Converge attendees and session leaders. (Session leaders will receive separate email with details). The shuttle will pick up at The Biltmore Hotel each morning and return after each day of the conference. We anticipate adding a second shuttle (we sold out the first hotel).

WHAT TO WEAR . Be comfortable! That's our only rule. There is music downtown on Friday night at 4 venues and a concert on Saturday night if you like those "club" clothes. The weather will be warm during the day and cooler at night (or it won't) so you might want a sweatshirt or jacket. We're on a college campus; bring comfortable shoes. We walk a lot down here.
WIRELESS INTERNET . The Biltmore Hotel has free in-room wireless access. The University's wireless is protected and we're working with them to open it up for ConvergeSouth. If you're not staying at The Biltmore Hotel, check with your hotel for connectivity. The Conference is using smart rooms and you can recharge batteries and use wired Internet connections in most of them.

Airport Transportation
It may come as a surprise to the big-city people, but Greensboro does not have an effective public transit system. If you don't rent a car or have friends in town to schlep you around, but have travel needs to or from the airport, you must let us know. We have a few volunteers, but if that doesn't work out for your schedule, you will need a taxi for your airport trip. The approximate cost from downtown to the airport is $20.
Some hotels have airport shuttles. We are working with Scully Travel to see if we can arrange an airport shuttle for those who made their travel plans with Scully. We'll let you know.
Session leaders will receive separate email about travel plans.

Apply for a Press Pass ASAP
Press credentials are supplied for legitimate online, print, television or other media organizations' representatives. Request a press pass here. No press passes will be considered on the days of the conference.
WHERE TO REGISTER . Press representatives register in the office of the NC A&T student newspaper, The Register. Get a building map here [jpg]. You can use the office's computer, fax, phone and interview room. In return, we ask that you mentor a student during your conference visit. Interested students will be in The Register office.
